Unique Opus 8

This is one of the very cool pieces in Basel 2008. The Opus 8 is the latest addition to the Opus lineup.
I am certain that many of us can identify with the 70′ish Pulsar look. That is actually what it is meant to be. I remember being obsessed in my youth with these LEDs. Plus, seeing James Bond with one did not help. Finding one of these today in good condition is a difficult task. There are Some Jaeger and even Omegas out there that I would love to put my hands on. Alas, you only see them from time to time and they are just impossible to procure.
The Opus 8 is quite an exercise to say the least. Being able to make a mechanical version of what in our youths we only dream of having is certainly a challenge. The mechanism works by raising a template up onto the indicator pad by means of a lever. Once activated the template pushes the corresponding micro pillars upwards, as you can see in the picture. The lever is very easily mistaken by a repeater complication but instead of chiming this will make the hour appear only to recess back in its flat mode after a few seconds. Just like the Pulsar back then. The minutes are displayed in five minute increments on the right side. To be honest I would not mind a version with this design and with a real LED interior just for fun. I shouldn’t be expensive of course.
Even if (as a watch addict) I am not to hot on jewelers making watches I must admit that the “Opus” are something that I can only dream to have. Unfortunately, like for most of us, this is only to bee seen from a distance…

As the Fearless Yacht’s website says this boat is made for the “Aquabahn.” The Fearless Yacht 28 comes equipped with a 550Hp Dodge Viper V10 motor (as an upgrade) which will have you zipping along the surface of the water at 80 MPH (or 70 knots).
Teak inlays, an iPod dock, high-quality stereo (upgrades available) all make this a luxury yacht built to satisfy. The sleek design and coloring make this yacht attractive to any discerning car enthusiast ready to try the open waters. The Fearless 28 is built for 2 passengers who will cruise comfortably in the bucket seats with ergonomic features.
But this isn’t the only model that will be available as Fearless & Porsche will launch more models in 2008 (a 44 and super luxury 68 foot yacht). If you want even more luxury you will have to wait until 2009 for the Fearless 125 to be available for purchase or the Fearless 150 which is scheduled to be for sale in 2010.
Samsung Pixon 8 MPix Phone Now Official

Samsung officially announced the Pixon, a touchscreen phone with 8 Megapixel camera. The Pixon is the world’s slimmest full-touch 8-megapixel camera phone, measuring 13.8mm thick.
Samsung Pixon features a 3.2-inch full touchscreen, Bluetooth 2.0, integrated media player, FM tuner, the latest TouchWiz OS, 200MB internal memory and a microSD card slot. Samsung Pixon’s 8 Megapixel camera offers 16x digital zoom, auto focus, fast-shutter, face detection, geo-tagging function and Advanced Shake Reduction. The camera can also capture 720×480 videos at 30fps or QVGA clips at 120fps.
Pixon supports quad-band GSM and HSDPA networks. Samsung Pixon will be released first in France in mid-October and then other European and Asian regions.
