Porsche Design Group To Design Yachts For Royal Falcon Fleet

Porsche Design Group on Wednesday announced that it has inked a deal with Singapore-based yacht builder, Royal Falcon Fleet to design and market luxury catamarans and mega-yachts exclusively for Royal Falcon Fleet. The first of these projects is a motor catamaran dubbed the RFF135, and measures over 40 meters (135ft), as shown in the sketch above, and will be sold under the Royal Falcon Fleet brand. Porsche Design will design both the hull exterior and interior of the catamaran.
The Group has engaged the services of Swedish marine engineering company Kockums (a subsidiary of technological powerhouse Thyssen Krupp, and Australian naval architect Incat Crowther.
An extensive tank test was successfully conducted in August at the Australian Maritime Ship Hydrodynamics Center using a 1:24 scale model (see picture below), with results pointing to a 35 knot sprint speed capability.

Limited Edition Parmigiani Bugatti Faubourg

Bugatti and Parmigiani Fleurier have updated their collaborative Bugatti Type 370 watch collection with an edition that pays tribute to Bugatti’s Veyron Faubourg Par Hermes car. The new edition comes with dials in colors that match the colors of the car and in two new materials – rose gold and brushed white gold.
The automobile makes its presence felt along the transversal movement (a horological premiere at that time) in which the movement is laid out on its side, spread between five plates in perfect alignment, highly evocative of a car engine. The dial is effectively on the case-middle, between the lugs, to allow easy reading of time for the wearer behind the wheel.
Apart from the movement, the aesthetics of the watch are a nod to the Italian-founded French marque, with certain wheels in the watch’s “engine” cut to resemble the trademark Bugatti wheel rims.
The movement – with the motions of the gear train clearly visible – is on show behind sapphire crystals that take the place of the traditional watch face and the case back. The watch is limited to 20 pieces, with Hermes leather strap, in 18-carat rose gold (10 pieces) or brushed white gold (10 pieces).
Prada II gets Fresh and Sexy

Prada’s sleek handset is back, this time around sporting a slide-out keyboard and a really cool sidekick. Engadget says LG has officially launched a microsite to promote the upcoming launch of the sexy Prada II, which also gives us a peek at the matching Prada Link Bluetooth watch.The phone itself sports a 5-megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens, a multi-touch display (similar to the iPhone), 3G connectivity, a front-mounted secondary camera for video calling, Wi-Fi accessibility, FM radio, microSD card slot, DiVX playback, and many more features.
The Prada II’s partner in crime, the Prada Link Bluetooth watch, can display caller ID information, call history, and text messages without having to remove the phone from your purse or pocket. Also, the Link alerts you with a ring or vibration when you have an incoming call, and it doubles as a stopwatch and alarm clock.
The LG Blog says the phone will be available through major dealerships in Italy, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Netherlands before Christmas for a retail price of 600 Euros ($760). No word on whether it will be available in the U.S. anytime soon, but I’m sure you’ll be able to find it through importers shortly after its release.
